I am a bit afraid to ‘abandon’ my books and school material, but from time to time I use the games in your book for a change. My pupils really appreciate it and I see them change. When I use a game, they are happy and all participate. When I follow my ‘normal’ workbooks, they are rather bored. This week a pupil came to me saying that I always should use games, because they also learn that way and it is much “cooler”.

I have just received Shelley’s book and I have to say that it is one of the most useful and practical ESL books that I have found. in my 20 years of ESL teaching. Although I’ve only had the book a few weeks and I haven’y explored it all the joke section worked a treat on my slightly nervous adult learner!! Shelley also has a really useful appendix that she sends out to everyone who buys the book and I have just printed out a wonderful game to play with my students tomorrow. So thank you so much Shelley for providing such a wonderful resource and also for all of the personal support that you give out – in my experience it’s rare to find that in an author. Well done – you’ve given me lots of inspiration for my teaching practice!!

This is one of the best, most helpful and well written books for EFL teachers that I have ever come across in all my teaching career. It has helped save so much precious time in my planning and has filled my classes with joy and positive energy. Given that I work for a quite particular and unique school (Artademia School – Milan/Italy) my classes are never homogeneous in terms of language levels, learning styles etc. The way this book is written and divided into categories/types of activities has been of great value and has met the many different needs of my students. Shelley has introduced me to a whole different teaching approach and has taught me some brilliant activities which my students loved. I would definitely recommend this book to every teacher!

I have used this book (in fact have used all the books Shelley has written) for several years now teaching English to students in Mexico. Shelley’s directions are clear; her activities and games develop skills in listening, speaking, writing and reading; and the wide variety of actives and games she provides cover all the different learning styles of students. I have thoroughly enjoyed using her materials and can honestly say my students have absolutely enjoyed learning English through these games and activities. I highly recommend this book; it helps put learning English into usable , real-life contexts.
